England’s Great West Way is so much more than a collection of different places to visit. It’s a connecting thread, bringing together not only the world-famous English sites, attractions and landscape but also the places and people that make up everyday England. Woven together, they form an important strand of England’s story. In this way the route delivers a concentrated essence of England and Englishness.
Why chose the Great West Way to sell?
There’s so much for your customers to experience along the route that we want to help you sell it. So we’ve put together this section of useful information to help you plan your itineraries and programmes.

• What is it? The Great West Way links London and Bristol. It follows a 125-mile routebased on one of the first Great Roads commissioned by the Kings of England.
• Who is it for? The Great West Way is for curious travellers searching for the real England. Those who want to explore further, delve deeper and uncover the essence of England.
• What is it like? Along the Way, everyday England rubs shoulders with worldfamous heritage.
• Why should I choose the Great West Way? The Great West Way offers an extraordinary variety of English experiences not found in any other part of the country.
Utilising our Ambassador Network
Our Ambassador Network is central to the success of this unique touring route as it will connect these inspirational experiences for curious travellers searching for the essence of England. These Ambassadors share our vision and are passionate about England’s Great West Way. They will be using the Great West Way branding and narrative in their communication and many have attended the welcome programme so they are eager to welcome your clients and share the stories they have uncovered about the route.
The listing section of this Directory identifies those whom are able to offer spcial rates, discounts or commissions. It includes Ambassador contacts who have specifically identified the need to attract the travel trade. Some businesses are small and have not worked in this way before, however, we have identified that their product offer is likely to be of interest. We encourage you to contact them directly to agree terms and find out how you can work with them.
Become an Official Tour Operator
We are keen to work in partnership with approved Great West Way Official Tour Operators. In return for you agreeing to develop, package, promote and sell the Great West Way we will offer you the following:
• Allow you to use the exclusive Great West Way name and visual identity in line with brand guidelines, including Great West Way marque.
• Provide you with a free copy of the brand toolkit, including official messaging and access to online photography library.
• Your inclusion in and access to the Travel Trade toolkit including the Travel Trade Directory, itineraries etc.
• Provide you with an Official Tour Operator listing on the Great West Way website including a dedicated listing for your business with direct link to your own website.
• Invite you to Great West Way supplier/ buyer and networking events where applicable.
• Offer you one to one support for itinerary planning.
• Offer you and your sales team the opportunity to attend an educational familiarisation visit.
• Provide you with regular Great West Way Travel Trade newsletters and informing you of upcoming marketing and business opportunities where applicable.
